Political Art

The art piece shown is called "The Problem We All Live With" and was painted by Norman Rockwell in 1964. A young black girl is seen in the painting escorted by four US marshals. This signifies a time when black children were not allowed in white schools. The painting also shows the writing "Nigger" and tomatoes splattered against the wall giving insight to a protest. Looking at this painting today, shows how much the US has grown as a nation in terms of accepting diversity in schools.
