Political Art
This painting is called ''The Talk'' by Michael D'Antuono made on 32'' x 54'' oil canvas in 2015. This painting shows African American parents having the talk with their son- teaching him how to act when encountering police in order to stay alive. I feel that this is so important especially with what has been going on these past few years with the killings of Tamir Rice, Mike Brown, and many other black men by the hands of law enforcement. You can see on the TV, the police officer, who was not indicted for his crime, and the unarmed young black man, that was killed. On the walls, there are paintings of Martin Luther King Jr. and Barack Obama. I feel that this shows how far we came based off of how we were treated in regards to race but still presently we are still facing some of the same issues.
