Claude Monet

Claude Monet was the founder of French Impressionist painting, and the most consistent and prolific practitioner of the movement's philosophy of expressing one's perceptions before nature, especially as applied to landscape painting. His technique of painting is unique and he mixes many colors to create dimensions.  The landscapes that Monet paints are gorgeous and take your breath away.  For my midterm, I would like to paint a landscape from Monet's enormous collection.  I love the beach and sailboats and thought the picture above was perfect!
