Paul Cezanne

Paul Cezanne was a distinguished French artist of the Post Impressionist Era. His work linked Impressionism, abstraction, and other materialist movements. He influenced many developing 20th century artists and movements especially Cubism. He did a lot of still life paintings which is what i will be doing for my midterm. He often used planes of colors and small brushstrokes to create complex fields. Still life was a very important genre for him and he made over 200 paintings like this over the decades. The one above is ''Still life with apples''.
