Barack Obama

This is an image of Obama presenting the painting of himself that will be hung in the Smithsonian. I was very impressed how the artist was able to make the painting so realistic. The foliage in the back is my favorite I think it is beautiful. In the foliage there is jasmine which represents Hawaii, Obama was born there. There is also blue lily's which represent Kenya, where Barack's father was born. Obama did not want to be depicted as a "Napoleon,"this is one of the reasons he is seated and has an unusual background in his painting. He wanted to be depicted as a guy that you are able to talk with. It is so cool that there is so much meaning hidden inside of his portrait.
