Claude Monet was one of the many founders of Impressionism. Nature was very appealing to the impressionists. Impressionism started when several painters began using natural methods of lighting their work and looking at the world in a different way. Impressionists paint landscape and outdoor scenes that appeal to them. I would like to paint my midterm project from his landscape of the ocean and cliffs. The colors really caught my eye. I love the ocean because it is so calming and relaxing.
