Political Art

This painting, Burma: The Quiet Violence was created by Myint Swe to raise awareness about the discouraging socio-political environment in Burma. This painting was part of the Thavibu Gallery and had to be hidden before it was revealed due to Burma's overly political nature. What I find intriguing about the painting is that it promotes peace and unity, even if we are in disagreement with each other. The artist promotes this through subtle means, so that people would not resort to physical violence.
