Paul Cezanne
Paul Cezanne was a French post-impressionist painter during the 19th to early 20th century. For many of his still life's he used short,"hatched" paint strokes that almost looked as if he was constructing the picture rather than painting it. What I like most about his painting is that each of the apples has different dimensions which makes it different from the rest, so it really gives the painting a distinct look. The mix of colors he uses in his paintings separate him from other artists. Cezanne's work is also said to viewed as "pivotal step" leading to the abstract art of the 20th century.
