This piece of artwork is called “The Problem We All Live
With”. The artist of this painting is Norman Rockwell. Rockwell is addressing
racism in America during the 1960’s in the south. The little girl in the
painting is called Ruby. On her first day of school, she had to be escorted because
she was the only black kid in the school. This painting is very important
because it is a perfect representation of what segregation looked like in the
United States at that time, even a small innocent girl has to face the
ignorance of segregation.
