Marcel Duchamp

This sculpture by Marcel Duchamp is called Prelude to a Broken Arm. It is made out of wood, on the handle of the snow shovel it says from Marcel Duchamp 1915. He named this sculpture Prelude to a Broken Arm because without a shovel you may just slip on the snow and break your arm. Right now this sculpture is presented at the Israel Museum. I chose this piece of his work because 

I thought it was funny, he hung a simple snow shovel in his studio and now it is a well known expensive piece of art. Sometimes I do not really understand the concept of "art" but I guess that is what makes it art!!
