Barack Obama Portrait

Kehinde Wiley's Official Portrait of Barack Obama

This official portrait of Barack Obama was created by Kehinde Wiley. It was unveiled on Monday, during a ceremony at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, in Washington, D.C. This painting portrays Mr. Obama sitting in a wooden chair in a field of leaves and flowers. His expression is serious, but still seems approachable. He is also depicted with his arms crossed, and with gray hair on his head. To me, this painting represents the growth that Obama created with the country during his presidency. His gray hair represents that working as president did make him age faster. His stern look represents that although he is older, he is still going to improve this country.
