Political Art

This painting is called "The Problem we all Live With" and was painted by Norman Rockwell.  Rockwell was addressing the racism in America and how it affects the people.  This poor African American school girl is being escorted to school by 4 U.S. marshals because the protesters were being so violent.  Rockwell painted this to show how bad the racial segregation was in the 1960's and how it dramatically affected the life of the children.  I think that Rockwell captured an amazing movement and it opened my eyes to how extreme racism was.
