I chose to write about President Barack Obama because I found his portrait to be very intriguing. This portrait is very warm, appealing, and inviting with the color choices; yet it makes you wonder many things like: what is he doing and why is there a garden like image behind him. I believe the way President Obama was positioned in the chair and the facial expression he holds in this artwork signifies his role as our leader. President Barack Obama listened to the peoples wants, cries, and needs and tried his best to satisfy all. In this portrait, President Barack Obama is intently listening to his audience. Also after doing a little research, I discovered why a garden was placed behind him. The garden represents his growth and journey in each place he grew up in (Hawaii, Chi-town, and Kenya) which soulfully defines who he is today. This diversity not only represents him and his journey but the wisdom he obtained, lessons he learned, and flourishment that occurred at the end of each location brining him to where he is now.
