Jackson Pollock was an American painter in the early to mid 1900s. Many of his works are in the form of abstract art, and he is most commonly know for his style of drip paintings, which I have shown above. Sadly, Pollock died at the young age of 44 due to an alcoholic related, single-car accident. In the car with him was he mistress, who survived the accident. His painting stand out to me because they can seem so simply done, yet he probably put much time and thought into them. Many people probably get the impression "Oh, I can do this", but if they tried it would not come out the same, or have the same meaning behind Pollocks.
