The article
shows how even the idea or concept of art can be so fascinating to an art
lover. The LeWitt painting in this woman’s home is not actually the piece of
art, but more of an idea of what could have been. I also understand why even
though it’s not the actual art itself someone would want to “un-erase” the wall
that is covering the LeWitt, who wouldn’t want to be able to see a piece of
someone’s history. In fact I think its even somewhat more interesting that the
drawing is considered an idea, it gives an insight to how he thought and
expressed himself when creating his art, another reason to scratch at the
surface. I question why it was covered in the first place; I wonder if the
sellers of the home thought that no one would buy the home if a wall was
painted over. Clearly, the homeowner and homeowner’s daughter love this hidden
drawing and are eager to see the art in their home.
I like how the straight lines and curved lines contrast each
other in this piece. To me the curved line is a path that someone could follow
to be different or they can choose to follow the lead of the straights lines.
Either way there is a blending of the curved and straight lines when the
outside purple curved line hits the straight purple lines and same goes with
the red. Maybe it suggests everyone has some type of similarity even if you
feel like a complete outsider.
