Inspired by the global support for the Students Rebuild Paper Cranes for Japan Challenge, Vik Muniz created a piece, titled "Large Paper Crane," with thousands of the origami cranes. This piece was created to raise funds for a Japanese youth center ravaged by the earthquake and tsunami. The character in "Large Paper Crane" means "together," and represents the thousands of people who came together to fold cranes. What I like the most of this piece is that he used to it to raise funds and awareness of the natural disaster that took over in Japan as well as the intricacy of all the sizes and colors of the cranes.
