Sol LeWitt
This article talks about a man from Houston who "un-erased" a drawing by Sol LeWitt that was covered by sheetrock mud within his house. It was created by LeWitt during the 1990s and was covered up before the house was sold. The article talks about the size of the drawing and the colors, and also talks about who is actually the owner of the art. Although Hitchcock owns the house, the wall of which the art is on, and the pigments of the wall, the art still does not belong to her. It is ultimately owned by the Menil Collection. I thought this article to be interesting in the way that it showed that just because you own what the art may have been made on, it does not mean that the finished piece belongs to you. Attached is a piece by LeWitt called Wall Drawing #368 created in 1982.
